What makes us different
Not corporate CEUs. Clinical tools you can actually use.
Pediatric Theratools courses are built for real caseloads—so you leave with a method, not just information.
We teach systems (not scattered tips)
Clear frameworks you can repeat across diagnoses and settings—so your sessions feel organized, confident, and effective.
You leave with ready-to-use tools
Scripts, handouts, checklists, documentation language, and demo guidance—so Monday morning implementation is easy.
Built by clinicians who still treat kids
Our content stays practical because it’s shaped by real pediatric sessions—NICU, EI, outpatient, and beyond.
Our Story
We were tired of leaving CEUs inspired…
but unprepared.
We’ve sat in the hotel ballrooms. We’ve flipped through the binders. We’ve taken pages of notes.
And then Monday morning came — and it didn’t translate.
The information was good. But the tools weren’t usable. The implementation wasn’t clear. And the confidence didn’t stick.
So Pediatric Theratools was built differently.
Every course is designed around one question: Can a clinician use this tomorrow?
That’s why our trainings are interactive. That’s why we sit on the floor. That’s why we practice, adjust, and refine together.
Because pediatric therapy deserves more than inspiration — it deserves implementation.
CLINICAL LEADERSHIP
Meet the Experts Behind Pediatric Theratools
Pediatric Theratools is built on interdisciplinary collaboration — ensuring clinical depth, regulatory alignment, and specialty expertise across disciplines.
Laura Barnhart, OTR/L, CNT, CIMC-Master Trainer
Founder of Pediatric Theratools, LLC
With 24 years of pediatric practice as an occupational therapist and more than 5 years as a board-certified neonatal therapist (CNT), Laura created Pediatric Theratools in 2021 after students repeatedly asked for one thing: CEUs that don’t stop at information — they give you tools you can use Monday.
Known for practical, family-centered teaching that supports functional routines — without overwhelming caregivers.
Rachael Petrie, MS, OTR/L, CIMC, NTMTC
Lead Instructor — Custom Orthotic Fabrication for Infants & Children
Rachael is an experienced occupational therapist with 13+ years in outpatient pediatrics, NICU, and acute care. She practices in a Level III NICU, contributes to multiple committees, and has published research.
With advanced training in custom orthotic fabrication, she mentors therapists in splinting and casting and has presented nationally. Her approach makes orthotic fabrication feel less intimidating — and more like a work of art.
Christy Johnson, MA, CCC-SLP
ASHA CE Content Consultant
Christy brings a distinguished 20+ year career as a speech-language pathologist, focused on sustainable improvements in patient outcomes through evidence-based care.

Laura provided a great training for our early intervention team. The process of hosting a course was seamless. Laura communicated on a regular basis and gave very clear instructions. During the training she was knowledgeable, engaging, and fun. Our team walked away with many great applicable skills that they were able to immediately implement in their daily practice.
