Designing Purposeful Play
A Multidisciplinary Approach in Early Intervention
Do You Struggle With Therapeutic Play?
You’re Not Alone...
Are you a pediatric therapist, social worker, or developmental specialist working in Early Intervention—and feeling like something is missing? Or maybe. . .
- You find yourself struggling to help families achieve the progress they’re hoping for?
- Maybe you feel unsure walking into a home without a bag full of toys and tools...
- Or you're overwhelmed when working with children who have global developmental delays outside your comfort zone.
- Perhaps you worry that families can sense your uncertainty—and it leaves you second-guessing your skills.

Early Intervention work is complex—but also incredibly important. You play a vital role in every child’s developmental journey.
Imagine If. . .
With the right tools and knowledge, you can step into your role as the expert families need.
In Early Intervention, play is the heart of learning—but not just any play. Purposeful play is:
- Meaningful
- Goal-directed
- Embedded into daily life
Through a transdisciplinary model, specialists share knowledge and align goals so families get a whole-child approach. At the center is the Primary Service Provider, who coaches families through play-based routines that support multiple areas of development at once.

Taking a course on designing purposeful play through a multidisciplinary lens can help you:
- Deepen Your Understanding of Whole-Child Development
- Design Activities with Intention
- Work Smarter as a Team
- Coach Families with Confidence
- Build Confidence in Complex Cases
- Align with Best Practices in Early Intervention
